I'm wondering if anyone has read this one. Peter Rose, editor of Australian Book Review, welcomed Brooks' March, along with Delia Falconer's The Lost Thoughts of Soldiers, a retelling of the consequences of Custer and Little Big Horn. I had the same thoughts myself. I do think some historical fiction I have read is outstanding, but based on this snippet, this is not one of them.
