In my humble opinion, the best book on the battle I have read is "Custer's last campaign", by John Gray. The first half is a look at Mitch and his life, in the second, he uses a time-motion study of events leading up to and including the battle. feel free to comment if you have also read this book. M

It is one of the better books, especially Boyer's life and his tie-in with Custer.
It's also amazing about the other people involved with the events that took place during the third quarter of the 19th century on the Great Plains.
That is what is so fascinating about the LBH, to me that is the best part, the people, with tactics coming in second.
And if we look deep enough we can see all the interconnections among the antagonists both white and red.
