Our family has known for years that we have a Sioux (Cheyenne) ancestor named Little Hawk. His two daughters, Iron Woman and Blind Woman were alloted with the Southern Cheyennes in 1891-1892, and their probates list Little Hawk as the father and a Sioux Woman as their mother.
Iron Woman, the sister we're descended from, married a Sioux named Eight Horns/(Many Horns?). These two were at the Beecher's Island fight, and are mentioned in books about the fight. Eight Horns was later killed in the Black Hills fighting gold prospectors. He and Iron Woman had a son and daughter named Mower/Cut Grass and Stands In Sight. Mower /Cut Grass was a Cheyenne Chief and Arrow Keeper.
We would like to know if, possible which of the two sisters of Spotted Tail was the mother of Little Hawk, half brother of Crazy Horse?
Mower had a daughter, named Stands In Sight, who bore a striking resemblance to a woman from the Spotted Tail family. Mower's other daughter Pipe Woman, was my mother's grandmother.
Again thank you in advance for any information.
