I has encountered names: Cetan Ptanyan and John Naptanxan or Raw Hide Necklace (Both names has found out in 1889 Cheyenne River Census Roll adult male). Name Naptanxan is translated not as Raw Hide Necklace. May be have the relation to turning, for example name of Turning Heart is written down as Cetan Ptan and meets as Cetan Ptanyan.

Tanonnaptanyan should be written Tanum Na Ptanyan meaning His/Her Two Activities

I think it may be wrong writing word of ONIYA (spelling oh-nee-yah) 'breathe.'
