I'd like to hear what you may think about the role of Crazy Horse in the battle. I've read Michno. Don't agree with him. I still think there's evidence of the northern sweep. 'What better place to ask?', she wondered.
Also has anyone ever considered that there were two warriors named Crazy Horse at the battle and one named Crazy Iron Horse? Which of course complicates the issue even further.

I tend to agree with Michno in this respect. According to him, though CH's role was relatively brief at LBH, his actions along battle ridge, which broke the back of Custer's battalion--ending any possible reunification of the companies--cannot be underestimated. I can come up with some more specifics, but haven't had enough caffeine yet!
BTW--my favorite LBH book at the moment is Where Custer Fell by Pohanka, Barnard, & Brust. Though it doesn't go into the detail of some titles mentioned by others, I find it a wonderful overview of the battlefield--and the accompanying theories--beginning with Reno Creek. When completed, the reader has completed a thorough tour of the site, beginning to end.
