As a recently-joined group member, i see a lot of references to "the other board/forum".
What is the history of all this? I have seen things change since I've been readin the last few months, but can not get a clear picture of the details - what gives?
Thanks!

BTW - When John F. Kennedy made his famous, "I am a Berliner," speech, didn't he make a slight error in grammar so that it actually came out, "I am a dougnut," sorta? Jelly doughnut, actually. Gut gesmeckt, too.

This board was the original forum of the Little Big Horn Association (LBHA). There was a power struggle that led to the LBHA creating a duplicate board, copying this one exactly in format. That board became the new LBHA forum, and this one went independent. The other board was moderated by a fanatical Custer supporter who believed himself the reincarnation of Myles Keough (Literally) He spent his life impersonating Keogh. His fantasies led him to criminal acts, imitating the punishments of the 1870s 7th Cav on schoolchildren. He actually has an interview in the Columbia Journalism Review where he told the magazine that he intended to design his schools discipline system to copy that of the 7th Cav and his hero Keough. This led to his criminal conviction and a long following history on involvement with police and the judicial system. This person was in the middle of an investigation 2 years ago that led him to flee the country to Thailand. He destroyed the other board as he fled. It was an ugly era. I am glad the other board was deleted, it was full of fabrications and emotional dementia. The only posts I regret being deleted belong to poster Conz. Our views on Custer are complete opposite, but he elegantly supported his views with detailed analysis. There is nothing wrong with disagreeing about opinions. A line is crossed when they become emotional, and get personal. That board was a perpetual line stepper. {Line stepper reference: www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9yQq4NxyOE }

It sounds like a person who is borderline sadist and pedophile. It is a shame a lott of the posts are gone, there were plenty of especially older posts there worth looking at. The rick Jams ("b--ch") sketch may be the funniest sketch ever made. It's close. Chappelle and C. Murphy had another True Hollywood Story about Prince, which is almost as good, only a little less crazy in terms of violence and drug use. All the best, Geir

Discussion of this battle becomes emotional and some, and is exhibited personally against posters and participants in the battle from time to time.
The history is interesting as also, the history of the history, and its bottom line of survival. On discussion boards, moderation is the name of the game where members from time to time consider themselves sufficiently 'justified' to indulge visceral barbarity towards others. Where that doesn't happen in face to face, it is tediously simple in text.
The battle is fascinating, as is this format, and its contributors. I hope discussion boards continue as a valuable and worthwhile medium but the future does not look bright into the ongoing innovations technology bring us. My own experience with the more intense chat forms today is marketing fallout where stuff I didn't have a clue that I needed, is being delivered and paid for automatically. This novelty works brilliantly well, or did, until 30 loaves and five hundredweight of haddock were delivered while I was abroad for three weeks.
The alternate board and its discussions hold very much of value and some of it entirely unique, continues and never died. You simply register and use to your hearts content. Once registered, sign in and voila - there it is with a tun of useful data and research in various strands and ilk.
It is perhaps important in wider reflection, to remember and certainly not forget that, love is only hate gone wrong.
Regards.
