Did crooke tell terry or anyone for that matter about his battle with the NA's? Surely someone had to have known? And if not why? And if terry/custer was told of it would it have made any difference

Crook was a very long way from Terry. Even if he sent a messenger once he got back to Goose Creek, it would have taken that messenger around a week at least to get to Terry's last known position, and then the messenger would have to find Terry. By the time Terry was informed of Crook's action, it would not have made any difference. Custer could have discovered the Rosebud fight evidence if he had continued to the headwaters as his orders indicated. That could have altered Custer's plans and maybe changed the outcome.

Reno's scouts should have discovered evidence of Crook's movements but deviated onto te Rosebud and Bouyer detected the 380 lodge camp, on the 17th June, 1876.; and its route towards the Little Bighorn.

There's the terrain from Lame Deer onto the Little Bighorn and the series of X's from top are Busby, the small 'x' is aplace called Kirby I have always wanted to visit to figure out what happened there and get up on top of the hills for the views. Next is Crook's battleground and at bottom, headwaters of the Tongue which which obviously flow through to the mouth of the Tongue. There was a huge battle at Ranchester in 1865. The 'X's are roughly correct and I leave it for others who love nailing stuff in microns to do that exactly, if the discussion warrants it. Regards. Rocking Ranch - link Aaaah.... if I had $5 or $10 millions laying around idle......... Yeeha.......... A period map here indicates battle sites and march. Crook's June 1876 route is absent but of course there is always Stanton's filed report.
