Hello, my name is Egbert Balzar and I'm a figure collector in the scale of 1/72. For my next project with the name "Crow's nest - Custers last sunrise" I'm looking for photos of the "Crow's Nest". I want to build the landscape so realistically as possible. Unfortunately, I could not find any pictures on the linked pages.

Can anyone possibly help me?
Greetings Egbert Balzar

Hello Egbert and welcome. You might wish to PM AZRanger on this board. He has taken a lot of battlefield pix and may have Crow's Nest among them. Good luck. Best, David

Hello thank you very much for the feedback ...
Yes, I know this picture.
But I'm looking for photos that show the view of the crow's nest from the outside. or an all-round view from custers standpoint.
Greetings

But I'm looking for photos that show the view of the crow's nest from the outside or an all-round view from custers standpoint. You need to be more specific: I can give you all the views you want: from the Crow's Nest, west and east; of the Crow's Nest from the divide; different angles, etc., but I am not going to post every one I have. If you can be more specific as to what you are looking for, I will post some. Best wishes, Fred.

Hello Fred, thanks for your help. As I have already written in my request, I would like to recreate the landscape at custers location as exactly as possible. But I do not know the place where he probably stood. linkSo it is of course difficult for me to tell you exactly which pictures could be useful for me. I think a photo where can be seen what custer has been shown in the morning by his scouts - view direction indian camp, and in the opposite direction - looking towards crow's nest. As well as the view on custer's position from outside of the four cardinal Points. Possibly I can then get an overview of how the terrain looked out. I hope that I could express myself understandable... but again many thanks for your efforts Greeting Egbert

Fred I look forward to your next book and certainly hope you will share more of your beautiful photos as much as possible. Ain't it wonderful too out live the expectations of your enemies and stay here for the enjoyment of friends. Aggravate the bastards, aggravate me boyo and enjoy the consternation you cause by publishing the truth!! It is such an inconvenience for liars Best of health to you my friend and remember what our friend Harlan Ellison says! Regards Dave

Egbert, Okay... tell me if these are what you are looking for. The first one is what Custer would have seen from where he was standing on the Crow's Nest hill... it is NOT at the top: he was standing below the peak. It is looking west into the Little Big Horn valley and Reno Creek... This next one is looking east into the bowl of the Crow's Nest. This is where Varnum and some others slept and where they kept their horses. Custer would have come through here to get to the top of the hill... This last photo is of the Crow's Nest hill taken from on the divide. In all likelihood Custer would have been standing here looking back toward the Crow's Nest hill. The view looks to the southeast. Best wishes, Fred.

Hallo Fred, thank you for your great help. your pictures help me in any case already further. I do not want to appear insolent, but you may have a picture with a view from the west and from the southwest in the crows nest. Please excuse my bad english. I hope you understand what I mean.
Can you explain me what is on the pictures to be seen and from which heavenly direction it was made.
Best wishes Egbert

One last thing. I showed my wife your work, she thinks you should forward your photos to the NPS/LBH and offer to let them display your project in June.
Regards, Tom
