Hello, my wife and I, along with another couple, will be visiting the battlefield on Friday July 14 and Saturday July 15. I was wondering if there is anyone who gives personal tours of the battlefield? When we were in Italy last summer we used a company that offered scholars to take you to museums and give a personal tour. We would be interesested in doing the same at LBH, especially with an expert who specializes in the 7th Cavalry aspects of the battle.
I have guidebooks and I'm sure there is a self guided tour and all that, but I would really like to be shown the battlefield by someone who knows the details of the battle and who can answer questions.
I've long studied the U.S. Army in the west and am very excited to finally visit the battlefield in person.

There are several, contact the battlefield. Also you might want to contact the Realbird family, they can give you a tour of the adjacent/preservation land on horseback, and if you wish supply a guide. Not for the overly thrifty but well worth it. The Realbirds are a Crow family, that help conduct the reenactment.
