Fred mentions in one of his many posts how most members are just readers and not posters. How posters are often attacked for a mistake or omission.
This unfortunately is a problem in our society. I challenged a test question on a communications test some 35 years ago. The test question asked if you lose a debate are you personally diminished. The correct answer was yes you were diminished. My answer was you were not diminished. The professor said I was a member of an extremely small subset and she guessed less than 5% felt it was not diminishing. We have no real debate in our country or in our legislatures. Ever watch the English, they debate and it seems they see it like we do ballgames: great fun. So I would ask members to not be afraid of scrimmaging and critics to soften their attacks. I grew up arguing, we had to do it to survive, if we managed to beat adults at the game great, if we lost we were honing our skills. Hardly anyone has read every bit or thought of every angle and through debate one can improve the story.
