I have just completed reading the most wonderful book, "Where Custer fell" written by James S. Brust, Brian G. Pohanka, and Sandy Barnard.
The photographs that accompanies the written text are unbelievable. One can see past photo's compared to contemporary photos that do so much to help the reader grasp the different terrains in which the battle occurred.
The names of ridges, coulees, and swales and their locations pin-point where the soldiers fell. Great reading. I highly recommend it.
