The Mari Sandoz (1896-1966) Collection at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Libraries contains 199 boxes (186 linear feet) of materials from 1864 to 1976, with the bulk of them being 1931 - 1966, and most of it is microfilmed.

Series 1: Personal Library [Not MICROFILMED]
Books and periodicals from Sandoz's personal library.
Series 2: Research Files and Card Index [MICROFILMED]
The research files include source materials and about 45,000 3" x 5" index cards refering to interviews, notes and research materials. Available through interlibrary loan.
Series 3: Manuscripts and Publications [MICROFILMED]
Manuscripts and galley proofs of Sandoz manuscripts and publications with handwritten corrections or notations. Available through interlibrary loan.
Series 4: Personal Files and Correspondence [MICROFILMED]
These files consist mainly of correspondence, from the middle 1920s until 1966, the year Sandoz died. Many of the letters are carbon copies of replies she sent out. Other documents relate to her professional activities. Available through interlibrary loan. Please see the "Indexed Correspondence, Microfilm Reel List" below for an index to the correspondence.
Series 4: Alpabetical Correspondent List
Correspondent details were originally listed on index cards. The original 3" x 5" cards include the date of each letter, whether the letter was to or from Sandoz and, sometimes, a brief note about the contents. The correspondents are listed alphabetically by last name.
