Has anyone else on the boards read this book?
It's quite an off beat (post modern) book about the Custers.
It's really about the dual quest of a British writer to come to terms with the death of his wife whilst researching the life of Libbie. This research involves retracing her footsteps in the USA, Russia and Europe.
I enjoyed the book, although there are a few factual mistakes, which are a bit strange as the author (Jeremy Poolman) has clearly researched the subject thoroughly. For example, Libbie is told of GAC's death on 5th June 1876!
Despite the odd mistake, I would recommend it, although I'm not sure that it would appeal to most Custer buffs.
