He's done his last Cattle Call: The legendary country crooner that Billboard Magazine ranked the number one country artist of all time, Eddy Arnold, died at the age of 89 at 4:40 a.m. on Thursday at an assisted living facility in Franklin, Tenn. He's brown as a berry from ridin' the prairie, and he sings with an old western drawl.....R.I.P. indeed.

I didn't realize he was 89!
He was quite good however, real C&W, not that crap they call country now.

More here: tinyurl.com/6xzwpncefil ( I Wore a Tie Today...) Grew up (and still believe my sister has the album) with "Cattle Call." The man could sing, no more needs to be said. Rest in peace Eddie. Be good all, Billy

Gordie,
Do you remember a Canadian singer named Tony Kousay or Kosay, something like that? I saw him open for Blood, Sweat & Tears in the 70's and he was really good. Then he disappeared from our side of the border. I'm fairly certain he was Canadian.

Scout:
I have to plead ignorance in this case. If you've got the name even approximately right, it rings no bells in my steeple. A lot of people disappeared in the early 70s [including me]. What kind of music did he sing, if you recall?

I saw BS&T in DC in the early 70s (I think). Great concert! I don't recall anyone opening for them, but I don't recall a lot from then.

He played acoustic guitar....his music was similar to James Taylor. He was really good and I think he did an album for Columbia, but not real sure. The time period is kinda fuzzy.
