I thought I'd put this on Gordie's thread, but figured I'd best not interrupt ... this whole thing about having the anniversary of the battle on a Wednesday really puts a serious crimp on a working girl's schedule ... especially if she'll be needin' to sell her book in those climes. Of course, all of you who already have received next May's Newsletter already have this information!
In Hardin, Little Bighorn Days are scheduled for Wednesday, June 25-Sunday, June 29th, so I'm guessing the CBHMA brewhaha will be that week.
I don't know who's going or when, but that's the time, I guess. If I go, it'll probably be for the weekend, a long one, hopefully, but the weekend nevertheless. I'd love to join Gordie and the gang.
I still don't know when the Realbirds are gonna do their Christmas pagent or when (or where) the still kind of nebulous Camp Garryowen is going to be .... or when the Friends will be meeting and manning the trails. To quote a childrens' poem:
Wednesday's child is full of it. --t.

Trish:
If you're in the vicinity at the same time, we'll arrange a meeting...Damn, I just tripped over my copy of the CBHMA program for next June's meeting and symposium. Neat topics and speakers.

It would be great to know exactly days the CBHMA is holding its events this year. We still haven't gotten anything from the CBHMA to advise us on this and we will need to be picking our vacation schedule at work soon.

Is the CBHMA always the one that runs the June 25th festivities?
Best wishes, Fred.

Yes, CBHMA hosts the late June conference at the battlefield. Rod Thomas confirmed yesterday that the conference will be June 26-29, 2008. He'll get the registration form online sometime this week at www.cbhma.org.

Then those of you who are there, at least on the 26th and 27th, look for the slightly disoriented old guy, wearing a cowboy hat as if it were a French beret, and loudly proclaiming that he has to pee..................

Yes; but I believe that it is up the Ash Creek valley a tad - provided that it has survived the deposits of the "boys."

No, it's down Lodge Trail Ridge aways. Can't miss it. It's the only withering tree on the ridge. It survived Fetterman, Crazy Horse, Roman Nose, Harry von Zell, and Scrooge McDuck, but it'll never survive bubbabod.

"Withering" being the operative word.

Withering . . . it's not the "whizzing" tree?

Gordie Just don't create a new morass somewhere that will then confuse historians for the next 100 years. lol

You missed the updates on Gordie's Big Jaunt - I wont be going until 2010. As to morasses and historians, most of the latter seem to be in the former.

That's too bad, Gordie. I was looking forward to seeing if we could bury this damned "hatchet" once and for all, and not in one another's head, either. I will miss you.
Fred.
