Is anyone fluent in Spanish? I received an e-mail and used an online translator, but it would be helpful if someone who is fluent in Spanish could answer him. Here follows the original: Hola soy Mario _____ , indio Quechua de los Andes, miembro del Grupo de Trabajo de los Pueblos Indios en la ONU, quisiera saber si es posible me ayuden a buscar todo lo que atañe a Bufalo Bill y los hermn@s indios en Europa con el circo , ya que estoy investigando donde fueron enterrados los hnos lakota y que puedan regresar a su tierra de Wonded Knee. Un abrazo fuerte and the translation I received: Hello I am Mario ______, Indian Quechua of the Andes, member of the working Party of the Indian Towns in the UN, wanted to know if is possible they help me to seek everything that belongs to you Snort it Bill and the hermn@s Indian in Europe with the circus, since I am investigating where they were buried the hnos lakota and that can return to their land of Wonded Knee. A strong hug Of course, I can tell he was asking about Buffalo Bill, not "Snort it" Bill, but is anyone willing and able to answer him? He attached an 11-page document titled LOS PUEBLOS INDIOS DEBEMOS FRENAR EL MALDITO COLONIALISMO ESPAÑOL. Help!

Diane, here's the translation:
Hello I am Mario ______, a Quechua Indian from the Andes, member of the Working Group of Indian Peoples in the UN. I wish to know if you could help me in finding out all possible info about our Indian brothers who came to Europe with Bufffalo Bill’s Wild West Circus. I am investigating where our Lakota brothers were buried, so that they can be brought back to their land, Wounded Knee. A strong hug.
Title of the attached document may be translated as “The Indian peoples must stop the damned Spanish colonialism”. Curiously enough, it’s been sent by an Indian with Spanish name and writing in Spanish!

That is odd in a funny sort of way! Of course, I thought of you immediately but didn't want to impose. Now I will. If I forward his e-mail to you, would you answer him? I wrote back -- using the translation service so who knows what I said! -- asking him to be patient while I found someone to correspond with him in Spanish. In the meantime, if anyone knows of European burial locations of the Buffalo Bill Indian performers, please post them here. Thanks!

Diane,
I have not the slightest idea whether any Indian members of BB’s troupe died in Europe, but I will be glad to translate and forward to Mario any useful data submitted by posters.

Try Elisabeth - there are at least a couple buried in London, whose names I disremember.
Gordie, you wore blue. no it was green. you were a king. I was a queen. Ah, yes, I remember it well......

I think the "Salford Sioux" story posted earlier mentioned one or two there, too. Bear with me while I do some digging (no pun intended).

So far, I'm afraid, I've only found two. One is Long Wolf, who was originally buried in London but has now been returned to South Dakota: cgi.cnn.com/WORLD/9709/25/chief.long.wolf/The other, Charging Thunder, is still buried here -- but as his descendants live close by and cherish his memory, I'd be surprised if they'd want him dug up and taken away ... tinyurl.com/c6uojI'll keep looking; can't guarantee there'll be more, though.
