All--
Folks, it's happened again. My brother, Tomas, passed away this morning at 7.07 CDST. He was but 42 and an inspriation to all ... my mother haemorraged in the 5th month of preganancy and he was born with a severe mental retardation. He lived life as a 13 year old--still full of innocent joy.
It happened very swiftly--he started hyperventilating at 4.00 this morning--something I slept through. Thankfully. I didn't get to the hospital until 8.30 this morning and when I saw the coroner's truck and no ma and pa, I knew something terrible had happened.
The good news is, Tomas is with my Sweet Babee and talking Cubs (did anybody see that great game?) and the Rolling Stones?
Sympathy wishes are welcomed. If you'd like to send a card, contact me privately. My mother is angry and inconsolable. This was her first borne ... I am walking about in a daze about to faint. So please, please keep my Ma and Pa in your prayers. They're gonna need it.
The March Curse is back up and running. Bless you all.
Trish

Dear Trish-
I am stunned at this turn, and can say I'm so very sorry, but that is saying nothing at all. My thoughts definitely will be all yours today, and will add that I understand how your Ma and Pa are taking this right now. It was, perhaps, God's mercy that this happened so quickly.
May peace be in your hearts soon, and may strength for each other be yours now.

I'm sorry, and with that bit of hope it is all the sadder. Hang in there, March will soon be over.

Prayers and regards, Trish. I recently lost a 26-yr old nephew who was mentally retarded, and we all loved him dearly. He brought out the best in everybody who cared for him, and I'll bet your brother had the same effect.
