It was an attempted smash and grab burglary, and surveillance video shows that the thieves didn't anticipate an 85 pound guard dog named Custer to be waiting for them.
Once inside, the crooks left quickly without stealing a thing after seeing Custer and hearing a loud alarm.
"Custer is our guard dog. We've had him a number of years. He's very intimidating looking and can be mean under the right circumstances. This is one of those circumstances," Chris Raymos said.
