Sometimes when sitting and reading the microfilm hour and hour, it sure gets rough on the eyes, especially mine that are not just over a half century old. About a year ago, I found myself in the library fighting against time and problematic printers on film readers. I started using my digital camera. You can shoot a whole page and make an image of it and when you get back home, you can crop out what you want and turn it to a jpeg like I did to this sample. I found this to be very helpful, especially on pages that are hard to print. You can enhance them digitally and it makes the transcription eaiser. The photo below is croped from a small section of the page shot. It works good for me, thought it might help someone else. You just need to make sure that the facility where you are using the ready does not have any objections to using the digital cameral.

LMAO! I thought I was the only one who did that! It is especially good on graphics. Just remember to turn off your camera's flash.
