All-- Here is a great opportunity to try and sell your manuscripts--both fiction and non-fiction--and you could spin it into a nice, looong vacation with the 130th anniversary of LBH the following week: WESTERN WRITERS OF AMERICA ANNUAL CONVENTION: JUNE 13-17, 2006, CODY, WY. www.westernwriters.orgWestern Writers of America is the premier organisation for all who are penning just about anything regarding the US West. Though you need to be published for active membership, their conferences are open to all. Writers, agents, and editors will be skulking about looking for YOUR Custer/LBH manuscripts! In addition, there are several members of both the CBHMA and LBHA who are also members of WWA. Besides, the conventions are supposed to be the bomb. Regards, Leyton McLean

Leyton-- You're amazing! Where do you dig this stuff up? Fred. Fred-- Don't give me too much credit. My friend is on the board of directors (membership chair, I think) and is after me to go--and if not in 2006, then 2007 (held in Springfield, MO, 6/12 - 6/17). From other friends who have attended past conventions, I've heard WWA members are just a bunch of great folks--very welcoming and NO egos. There's nothing much more fun than piling sixty writers in a tiny hotel room for a spontaneous critique session ... it's so inspiring to see that even writers who have been published and published still want guidance from their peers! I think WWA has a contract with Baker Hotels of Cody and has secured rooms in three hotels there--a Holiday Inn, a place called (if memory serves me) Buffalo Bill's Cabins, and some other place. And to think--you're soooo close to LBH! Regards, Leyton McLean
