Any thoughts on this book. It sounds a bit on the weird side so I'm not sure whether to spend the money on it or not.

Guest--
I happened to like it--but it really isn't a biography of Libbie. It's more of the author's travel journal wrapped around events in Libbie's life. Quite, quite day-trippy, very quixotic, some good insights into the Custers' relationship, and the relevation that whist in St.Petersburg, Libbie was escorted by Bob Dylan's grandfather. The author's father was a died in the wool Custerphile, so the son explores the fascination. There are also looks at modern-day Monroe and their resident general ...
I found the book quite inspiring, but as a strict biography, it doesn't really hold up. I bought it on the cheap ... a first edition from Amazon for like $5.00.
Regards, Leyton McLean

Interesting, thanks for you insight. I have heard it likened to SON OF THE MORNING STAR in style, is that correct in your view???
