For those who are considering portraying a character, the following web page lists the characters that are currently being portrayed by others. Be sure to click the link at the bottom of the pages to see all three pages of listings. If you are considering reenacting, please choose a character that is not already taken to avoid duplication. www.us7thcavcof.com/LivingHistorians.htmlAlso, see the "Crow's Nest Historic Re-Ride" thread on the 130th Anniversary board. That offers a great opportunity for novice and experienced living historians!

Unfortunately this list is not accurate. For instance I portray 1st Sgt Michael Kenney of Company F and have done so since 2001. Others are Trooper Klein portrayed by Anthony Satilaro, trooper Davern portrayed bt Bob Tedesco and QM Sgt Curtis portrayed by Troy Walker

You are correct, sturgis. I should have better explained why the list is important. The purpose of the list is to prevent the duplication of roles. The link was posted at the suggestion of the General (I created his website also) so that those who may want to become a reenactor will know which roles are already taken. It is not meant to imply that someone can decide to adopt a character and just show up in uniform.
I apologize if I gave the wrong impression. By all means, those new to reenacting must observe protocol.

How does one get on that roster? I have long portrayed Private James Watson (although I am older than he was) and although I doubt most would not bother to try to grab a mere Private's 'role' I still want others to know that I have 'taken' it.

Pvt Watson. I see no problem with you being that character. Don't worry about you being older than the character you portray. The real 1st Sgt Kenney was only 27 when he died that day in 1876....I am quite a bit older than that........lolol go figure he and I were born 100 years apart. Contact McCloud (or Macintosh) and have him list you in your proper company and position. If you need his e-mail address simply contact me....Garryowen....1st Sgt Kenney

I was asked by the General to design and research the web site that this thread is about. Upon confirmation from the General (CusterGAC@aol.com) as to the participant's desire, knowledge of the character and ability to accurately portray the individual I will add anyone to the list that is currently not on it (assuming another is not already impersonating that individual).
Please let me know (McCloud@US7thCavCoF.com) if you have any other questions or thoughts, and check out Company G's home page at 7thCavalry.info for any and all information pertaining to the Battle of the Little Big Horn and especially Company G.
Garry Owen!
