As someone who lives in the south I have metal detected for civil war relics here for years and have found hundreds of bullets, shell fragments, buttons, etc., But I have always wanted to search out west for bullets, metal arrowheads and such....and of course would love to be on a LBH dig!
Has anyone had any experiences doing this at any of the Fort sites...my friend Ron, who recently returned from the LBHA convention, found several shell casings in some remote areas near the forts.
Arrowheads are great to find as well.

Of course, I didn't report it to the NPS, but I found a bullet in between Medicine Tail Coulee and Deep Coulee at the Little Bighorn right under the cutbank-it's certainly a softnose lead bullet. I'm going to take it to an expert and see if he can tell me what kind of bullet it is and maybe how old it is-whenever it's from it hit something!

Tim, Whatever you do don't scrub the white oxide off...will decrease the historic and financial value by 90 percent. They have ruined more bullets at the park by this ridiculous procedure. A 'fired bullet' from the LBH is worth quite a bit, with documentation, of course.
