Thanks, fred. I'll try Arnold again, just in case he was on vacation or something, and then Bill Blake. It's getting hard to know what's political and what's just a screw-up.

I e-mailed Melani but think I might as well state publicly that Dale Kosman sent her the October NL today.
Dale is a very good guy but not a GOB!
Steve seldom acknowledges e-mails, but I think he acts on them. I've worked with people like that -- male and female -- who don't write back unless there's a problem or question. They just do whatever was requested and, I guess, figure it doesn't need any further discussion.

I've met Dale and share your opinion. I got the newsletter yesterday, Nov. 7, so it can't be the one Dale mailed the same day. Probably you are right about Steve acknowledging emails. It looks like I'm going to end up with two newsletters instead of none!

Okay, so now I've got three newsletters! One from Dale Kosman, one from Joan Croy, andf one that just appeared. I don't know if it's from Steve Arnold or just took the long way to get here. I guess the squeaky wheel gets the newsletter. Anybody need a spare...?

Montana--
You haven't missed much with the Newsletter, at least since Diane gave it up. I don't know Steve Arnold, so I shouldn't be knocking what he does. Ever since he has taken it over, however, it has fallen short of Diane's work. When she was the editor, you had a very nice article each month. Elisabeth, Mike Nunnally (Scout), and others contributed.
Now the Research Review is a horse of a different color. Those are excellent. Ray Hillyer, Tom Heski, Marc Abrams, Mike Nunnally, and quite a few others, have written great articles for it. That alone is worth the membership dues.
Best wishes, Fred.

Let's not forget the excellent article By Fred Wagner on Gerard in the Winter 2007 'Research Review!'

I am still going to climb on board (is it a slippery slope?) but I must say, I hope the Research Review is better than the Newsletter! I noted certain statements of defensiveness thereabouts. But thank you! I've tested the waters and didn't drown, so I guess it's safe. Cautious as usual, Bab

Well, the newsletter is just that--a newsletter, with stuff like new members and daily doings. The Research Review is for articles by heavy-duty researchers like Fred, and so is on a completely different level.

Got mine yesterday also. I guess we're all back on the mailing list, but they are running a bit late.
