Perhaps the landowners resent local tour guides making hundreds of dollars a pop by driving on their land. I think I'd want a piece of the action as well.

And who would really resent an admission fee to those landowners, either in cash or in kind? All I want to know is: can you get me to where I want to go, and how much will it cost me? If the cost/benefit ratio is unreasonable [for me], I will say "Hi ho. Have a great day, and I'll see ya around."
Gordie, to be where roads amd rivers lead. and living without greed, careless weed..............................

It's getting late and I've been sneezy all day - must be the new kittens, who insist on sleeping on my head all night. Now I'm getting really dopey and feeling kinda sleepy.........................
I always say "Hi Ho" and sometimes add "Petunia" if I'm feeling terribly combative.Them cowboys just love it.......................
Gordie, hey, you!! Get outta the GeeDee line, you're way too fat to be a dwarf!!! Can't I be Dumpy?.....

C'mon, lady, the seven dwarfs were Swedish. Read your Goethe.
Hi ho, Gorderino!
Quick... who said it...
Best wishes, The Mad Hatter.

Congratulations! Now all you need's a life! Want mine?
How about this one: "If two people agree all the time on everything, there is no need for one of them."
Sounds like my first wife!

WE must have been married to the same woman!!
I don't recognize the quote [I'm only up to watch the ballgame - but if it keeps going. I'm off to bed], but I'll take a shot at Robert Benchley, H.L. Menken, or Oscar Levant.
Gordie, see the gal with the red dress on - she do the boogie woogie all night long.....................

Diane: "...Weren't the Seven Dwarfs Canadian? ..."
I think at least two of them may have been Swiss.
