Hi, just finished reading ā Bury my heart at Wounded Knee ā and found myself hunting the net for more on the subject. Came across this site luckily and found it very interesting and packed with good facts. I am from Northern Ireland and served 12 yrs in the British Army before joining the prison service from which I have now retired after 29 years. Thanks for reading this.

The land of George Best and Norman Whiteside! I read BMHAWK myself when I was very young. My grandmother had a translated version I later on learned missed at least two chapters; I believe about the Apaches and Little Bighorn. In retrospect it is, as a work of history, not that great... but I would still consider it one of the most important books on the subject as it was one of the (if not THE) first to tell the story of the Frontier wars from the Natives` side, and not as just some barbaric, semi-evil people who opposed manifest destiny. Either way, glad to see new people here and hope you`ll enjoy the site. I have learned so much from my few years browsing through. Noggy

Thanks Noggy, Best, Whiteside and a good few more. š Iām planning to spend a few evenings reading through as much as I can before I venture into the realms of my opinions and thoughts. Still working out what areas to stay clear of and not stamp on to many toes.
