Was he killed at reno or Custer Battlefields? Was the remains of a Trumpter found near reno Positions? Years ago there was descriptive book of the remains found after 1980's arcclogoical dig...one unknow soldier was only about 5 feet tall...Voss?

Voss was the regimental trumpeteer, so his natural place would have been with Custer. He`s placed as killed on LSH in "They Died with Custer", but I have read (maybe in Fred`s book) that other sources have him closer to the river. Can`t from the top of my head say it rings any bells or makes sense he`d die in Reno`s sector. Noggy

I believe the trumpeter found near the river was Henry Dose, whose widow married First Sergeant Edward Garlick from Chertsey, England. Biographies of both troopers can be found on my website - www.menwithcuster.co.uk - Garlick on the ‘Biographies’ page and Dose on the ‘Other Biographies’ page.
