Im new to this board and have only recently discovered what a big deal being related to Nellie and Emma Wadsworth is. They were aunts to my great grandfather Charles Noyes Wadsworth. I had heard stories of these two wild spirited gals. My dad told my sister and I be careful going back in family history, you’ll find things ya might not wanna know. Lol. As I’m looking at a picture of an old seemly dignified aunt standing in front of my grandparents house I’m thinking the stories she must of had! Years ago was a trunk at my grandmas house which had many family Treasures one of which my grandma said was Aunt Nell’s dress which she wore to a picnic before Custer and his men went off to war. Nell never wore that dress again.

There are at least two group pictures of Custer and others that include the Wadsworth sisters. One of those pictures could well be on a day when they had a picnic.Just google(images)"Custer 1875 Heart River" the sisters are seated next to each other on ground to the far right.Custer is standing in the center. The picture was taken at the Heart River close to Fort Abraham Lincoln.

saw your post online regarding the Wadsworth Girls. I am related to the Wadsworth family and have seen all these pictures of them in the Custer Album dated 1875. I have yet been able to place them with parents. I have an Emma W. Wadsworth daughter of John Noyes Wadsworth all of Monroe County, but the problem is she had no sister named Nellie and she was married to an Albert Baker in 1873. Can you give me any info on these 2 girls
