Or someone else?
This is probably discussed/clarified to pieces previously, and in that case please bear with me because I could not find it.
At Battle Ridge, would I Company have been led by Keogh himself, or would he have delegated this to Porter in order to try to coordinate in any way he could the actions of the three companies? The latter seems reasonable in theory, even though it hardly was doable when the companies were spread out along Battle Ridge. He was of course Company commander but TC seems to have delegated his Company to Harrington (or did this happen earlier?), so why not?

All the best, Noggy Noggy, Your guess is as good as mine or any ones. If what I have read about I company is accurate, then it would appear that these companies were unprepared and hit so fast and so hard that Capt Keogh didnt have much time to do much of anything, let alone delegate authority. In Toms case (although we will never know) I believe that he gave Harrington C co so that he could be with his brother. As his body was found with his brother and not his C company men Be Well Dan

As his body was found with his brother and not his C company men Be Well Dan I`m thinking Keogh at least had the the time to deploy the companies around on BR, maybe by Custer`s orders. And like TC, he then had another job than just being Company commander at the time of the Indian attack. Like you say we`ll never know. It just struck me that I don`t think I`ve read anyone mentioning it as a possibility. All the best, Noggy
