Shame on LBHA Chairman Lowell Smith. He should have known better than to believe a story told by two proven liars, Ron Picard and Bill Blake.
In the current LBHA Newsletter, Lowell's Chairman's Message talks about the exchange of LBHA Sales materials. All lies.
My husband handled LBHA Sales for about 30 years at his own expense. Members were never charged a dime for postage. The collection took up an entire room of our house and a lot of our time, but we never complained.
Then Bill Blake made a unilateral decision to remove Chuck as Sales director and replace him with Ron Picard. (If you respected Michael Nunnally, look up what he said about Picard.) That decision cost the LBHA members thousands of dollars not only in shipping cost but storage cost.
Lowell states basically that Ron received a crate full of Sales items in a jumbled mess. If so, the blame falls back on Blake who contracted with a local company to ship the items. When they left our house, all newsletters, journals, mugs, etc., were in banker's boxes (many Research Review issues were in their original boxes) and in chronological order. If they arrived otherwise, that is the fault of the shipper, not us. It is more likely another lie.
Shame on all involved in concocting that story. Chuck deserves an apology in the next issue of the newsletter.

Did you send Lowell a copy of this. I have met Lowell and he seems to be a decent guy.

I agree! That's why it was so hurtful. Chuck will call him. They've been friends for a long time. Since Blake is the newsletter editor now, I doubt we'll see a retraction or apology.

Diane,
When your hubby speaks to Lowell, he might also ask to have this board as well as Beth's blue board linked to their site. The Rini board is not part of the LBHA, it is owned by Rini. It would allow searchers more choice.
Regards, Tom

Otherwise we al get to wait with baited breath how St Piddy Pat 666 set up his most recent diorama of LBH. Heck, maybe he'll post more copyrighted material and get them shut down. Hope all is well with you, Diane, and the rest of this board's inmates. ;-)

Brother David
Methinks perhaps the scholarly efforts of the Pygmalion of Nevada are weighing you down? I await each new purchase he makes for the edification of his nephew and his 10 year friends in developing and improving his reliquary. Each of the pictures shows his improvement and vision for his project.
His obsequious devotion to the moderator and acceptance that "the general"is is the main most man on anything related to the Battle of the Little Big Horn only improves his standing in my eyes. Arranging plastic soldiers on a replica hillside on 1876 Montana has to be a real work of art especially if you attempting to use ice skates!
I have been accused of being disparaging by a valued poster when I made a remark in jest which caused this person pain for which I apologized. I dropped the matter as I could do no more to assuage the hurt and my humor was neither appreciated or desired. I wonder what reaction if any this post causes from the would be Paul Philippoteaux of the LBHA? Regards Dave

Brother Dave: let's just hope Captain Pretend is never permitted to instruct those boys in person on anything LBH or anything else for that matter.

I just looked at the LBHA forum. I haven't paid attention to it since Darkcloud died.
Wow,...just wow. There is a reason it is called the lunatic board.
A poster with zero military knowledge and experience is trying to use Caldwell's Small Wars to support his long discredited, irrational and emotional opinions. It is a blind man describing colors.
The LBHA organization has to answer for its lunatic forum, based on fantasy and lie after lie after lie after lie.
If you want to have a romantic vision of this era, be my guest. But when facts get in the way of emotions, I will always go with facts.
The single cause of the defeat at LBH was LTC Custer's incompetence. Period. No other person or factor played a part. This is a very easy battle to analyze, and I spent a year on a study team looking at Tora Bora.
I had promised DC I would sustain his effort to look at the other board. I stopped doing so because I saw it as a useless endeavor. If I see a meaningful argument, I will respond. But its been three years since that board had anything relevant to say.

I have let my membership to the LBHA go, I was not a long term member. I have only been to two conferences, I met some wonderful, knowledgeable folks there. The linked, not owned forum, is, in my opinion a joke. If other forums were linked I could tolerate it, say two, three, or four. I was considering re-upping and going to Kansas this Summer on the way to the battlefield to join Steve.

montrose DC had let that board go a long time ago except for reading Benteeneast beating the moderator like a sock monkey. I always enjoyed DC's insights and his hilarious comments about the caped pretender's posts. Regards Dave

As you can see, I have deleted all messages in this thread that were posted in the month of May. I hate to take such drastic action, but it was virtually impossible to edit out all of the potential problems with this thread. I am not going to lose these boards over LBHA matters.
Thanks very much to Fred for trying to calm things down, but the damage was already done. Folks, you cannot throw around allegations of theft, sexual misconduct, or anything else of a criminal nature in a public forum. I appreciate that many are upset about the subjects discussed in this thread, but writing about them in this manner may be construed as libelous.
And yes, montrose, I certainly do feel vindicated.

Fred,
Are you attempting to fire up the masses? Diane has done what she needed to do. The posts were obviously up long enough for some dweeb/coward to read them. I don't think I posted anything that needed to come down, but have in the past, Karma!

One thought albeit I understand Diane's motivation to delete posts and appreciate her being up front about it. I would have liked to see Beth's outstanding missive directed at Lorne Langley in as straightforward a manner as feasible stay live.
Nothing more to be said and I hope the LBHA debacle turns out as well for the membership as is possible. As to the LBHA 'leadership' nothing more needs to be said as well.
Best,
Davis
