It is with the deepest sorrow that I tell all of you, Diane's and my friend, Richard MacLeod-- Dark Cloud, to so many-- has died.
I do not know what else to say, other than when I needed Rich, he was there for me... one of the very few. I shall miss his wit, his sarcasm, and his sheer genius.
God, please, rest your soul, my friend.
Very best wishes, Fred.

Amen, he was not only bright, but a fun duel. If one believes in the afterlife, I am sure Richard will be welcomed. God bless him.

Sorry to hear DC has passed. I didn't agree with much of what he believed, but he was at the very least thoughtful about what he wrote, and he attempted to back it up, so you can't ask for any more than that. I too, will miss his posts. RIP Dark Cloud.

A loss to this board. He will be missed. May he be at peace wherever he is.

DC was a friend of mine. He caused me to think rather than accept opinions regarding this battle. Didn't always agree with him but his personal side in emails more than made up for any disagreements on these boards. I went through the DC boot camp on the Against All Odds board along with wild. He changed how I post. I never picked up on his ability to write a post in regards to spelling, grammar, wordsmithing, and content but he caused me to seek truth rather than accept others opinions.
I will miss my friend.

One thing I remember about Dark Cloud is that everything was fair game, except one. People that were serving in the military and had served. He was always steadfast in his care and concern for them....He will be missed.
Rest in Peace Richard

So very sad to hear the passing of Dark Cloud, Richard MacLeod.
The forum will not be the same with out the Dark Cloud. One had to be writing and passing on correct information or the Cloud would be over your head.

Whatever one's personal opinion of him, it was unwise to tackle him without doing one's homework and this board will be poorer for his passing.
He kept a lot of posters on their toes.
I will no doubt pin him down to a theory for what happened at and beyond Ford B in the next life. RIP.

Dark Cloud was not my friend he was my nemises but he was the reason I got up so early in the morning .The time difference ment that incoming from Boulder came with the dawn. I shall not sully his reputation with anything mawkish .He was cuturally lethal ,dangeriously knowledgeable with a waspish sense of humour. He took no prisoners in the defence of Uncle Sam but strangely no one admitted error quicker than he did. I missed him when I returned to the board and was thinking that perhaps he was off sulking following the latest disturbancees. But that was not his style....no,he would be the last man standing come hell or highwater . A complex man and if some information that has come to hand is true even more complex than I imagined . Was he a good poster? Hell he was the only poster. ar dheis de go raibh a h-anam dilis Richard

My hat is off to you... this is one of the nicest, most moving things I have ever read. And I mean that sincerely. Having witnessed every single one of your bouts with DC on this board, for you to post something like this shows me the measure of what you are. And I am impressed, almost beyond words. Your generosity here is incredible... and I do not even know what else to say. Very best wishes, Fred.

Be Well Dan Also your closing statement roughly translated "May his soul be at the right hand of God" was a nice touch.
