One of the best things about the Little Bighorn is that you can have a theory and not be wrong. Nobody knows for sure what happened.
I think West and CSS are very passionate about it. I don't say this to pour gas on a fire, but from reading the posts, they are not the only ones who have been less than polite.

My point all along . . . but some cannot see their views as wrong and cannot accept conflicting and opposing testimony by LBH witnesses and opinions by modern-day posters.

Treasure in this you are right. For exemple I contest over fatherland jokes. Or anything that presume one is more wise or knowledgeable of another. Someone treated very badly CSS and West. It's also true that CSS attacked Diane vigorously, forgetting that she is the administrator, our host and, first of all, a woman. True also he ask forgiveness. So, for me, CSS and WEST can be well accepted and discussing with me, sharing our opinions. As told, I enjoyed also much of their posts.

If nothing else they stirred the pot a bit. With all the people jumping into the posting fray, there should shortly be more Grand Experts.
I don't agree with everything CSS and West posted. I don't disagree with it all either. But like my Mom used to say to my brother and me, "It takes two people to fight." Some of the replies to them were just as bad as what CSS and West were posting. If I was an LBHA buff from Switzerland visiting the board for the first time, I don't think I'd feel welcome after reading some of the posts.
It's great to be passionate and excited about something. Just count to 10 before you hit the POST REPLY button. Theoretically, whatever you post will follow you around for a long time.

I never said CSS or West were not knowledgable. They made a number of good points. However, I felt they skewed things only one way and ignored or rejected testimony or findings that contradicted or opposed their views.
PS: This was not their first time here . . . so they knew what to expect.

My point isn't to justify whatever Custer did. My point is to find what happened. And NO, Little Bighorn isn't a mystery. It's a criminal case which should be studied. It's what I'm doing and I hope it's what you're too. Anybody who's studying the case rather than commenting other statements with his own opinion deserves my deepest respect.

I admitted that I crossed the line some times (call me Travis), but I expressed apologies for people who deserved it. Never heard any apologies about me.

On this one, he looks pretty vain and I know that most of his enemies are using this picture as a proof of his vanity. Please...

I think they all looked pretty vain in those pictures, especially the ones in dress uniform. Obviously it was the style of the time--I can just hear the photographer going, "Okay, now look martial!"

Right but Custer doesn't have his eyes almost closed - a very vain attitude. It's true that generals had to look firm and proud. It's so sad that Wesley Merritt looks so humble in all his pictures - he looks like a boy. I prefer these ones of Custer - he really looks awesome :

Somebody give my a mop and a pail, please! I can't wait to see the new TLC programme: "What Custer Photos Not To Post," hosted by an adoring CSS along with the BBC's Trinny and Susannah. Now he's telling us what pictures pass his muster ... oy, vey! The obsession has become just a little too scary. Regards, LMC

I dunno about that second shot--GAC's hair looks positively dirty.
