Chuck,
I know it is a huge bring down from a .72, .58,.50, to a .223 cal. I will however attempt to walk you up the other way .22 short, .22 long, .22 long rifle, .22 mag, to a .223/5.56. If need be I have a .17. Long and short of this is if you find shooting these inferior rounds offensive, you might help us debate Custer's actions on 6-25-76. I would consider asking Dave but he might not be able to lift his leg to kick a$$. Beth would be ok if she did not have compassion for those she debates against. WO would be great but would not care to swim that far. DC would be wonderful if he would only allow others to speak, while paying attention to what others say.
Anyway we were talking about shooting, I think you could rise to the occasion, if not I am sure the missus could!
Regards. Tom

Tom: If its them thar prairie dogs that you be shootin, you can shoot all you want off my back deck and over the fence to the ranch land behind me. Full of the critters it be.
Now all kidding aside it is. Has been since we moved here 24 years ago. Bubonic plague killed them off about ten years ago, but they came back in full force, then the frackers came and poisoned them four years ago, and the neighbor lady went into a panic thinking her cats were under attack by the evil frackers. Alas they didn't find what they were looking for and I suspect there are several hundred back there now, although I never took the time to think seriously about counting them.
I only shoot in support of people three or four miles away. No fun in it otherwise. No challenge.

Tom Thank you for asking about my wounded limb. I just drove back from Omaha yesterday (12 hours 734 miles) so right now I would not drive to Rapid City next year at this time. Could fly I suppose. As to shooting prairie dogs, have no experience but have shot squirrels, coons, rabbits and armadillos, so would be willing to give it a go. Glad you and Fred had a good time at the conference. Did you learn anything new that could be shared with us lesser lights? Regards Dave

Having met Liddic I see what an insightful guy he is, plus a strong sense of humor. I am going to reread. Jerry Green seems to be well grounded. Fred should pick it up from there, as he did in his earlier post. I would love to spend a week with Ed Bearss one day, and not just for LBH stuff! The man is a treasure.
Regards, Tom
