Pretty much the same place you where when you took a similar picture, in the Cemetery Area, probably closer to the river, and not all that far from the Kellogg marker.

Could we be looking in the wrong direction? That looks to me like Weir Peaks, but taken from where? You all could be looking at it from the direction of Battle Ridge, but could it have been taken from Reno Hill or Sharpshooter Ridge. I could be wrong, but it has all changed so much around there, nothing like the last time I took my buddies along for a bit of target practice; Ian.

Let's be clear here. The photo was taken by Tom. I changed color, contrast and tried to sharpen it. The composition isn't altered at all; it's Weir Pt. and I don't know where exactly Tom shot from.
Ian, The "loaf" of Weir is on the left so the pic was taken North to South (generally).
Chuck, My guess is Tom shot it from the Calhoun Hill loop area as the road appears slightly lower in the pic. That's about 3/4 mile (as the crow flies) from my photos.
What I found interesting was (looking at the road curve) how deceptive the terrain is. How many warriors could conceal themselves behind the curve?
Best, c.

That's where he shot it from or near there, as indicated by his post on the Daughter thread.

Chuck, I should pay better attention. Just a note: Today in History threads are history for awhile unless someone wants to take up the slack. Best, c.

After the job you did from May through the battle you are entitled to a break. Thanks Chris

I got into a discussion with keogh on how close you can approach Weir and maintain cover when riding from MTF toward Weir. Staying close to the river you can approach within rifle distance I believe. We rode with Hamley Real Bird up along the river then to the end of the preservation property near Reno's location turn and rode down Cedar Coulée.
