I visited Photobucket on your advice where I learned they already know me. Wonder where else I have accounts no longer in my memory? Are you serious? That's kinda scary. I wonder if they have some sort of a program that simply picks up e-mail addresses...? Is that possible? Photobucket is a lot more user friendly today than it was when I first learned about it... I believe that, too, was a Billy Markland direction. Either Billy or Diane. Well... it's time to start agonizing over another Georgetown game.... God, will this purgatory never end...? Best wishes, Fred.

That is a great picture. South Skirmish Line, but I really like the perspective with the brush in the foreground. Nice job, Chris.
Best wishes, Fred.

Thanks Fred, I was testing Photobucket's URLs to make sure I understood your post about the 4 options. Thought they might have changed something. Best, c.

This is the bottom option of the four. That's "Fat Freddy," taken I believe in June 1964. It was taken in Heidelberg, just before I got the job in NATO. I guess I was 23 at the time-- a first lieutenant-- and in that picture I weighed 162 pounds, the most I have ever weighed in my life. Some people don't even recognize it as me. I have to tell you guys... I did love our uniforms!!! Best wishes, Fred.

Fred, With your permission I'd like to change the color scheme in that photo... waaaay too blue! (could be a difference in our monitors but I'd like to try.)
Best, c.

Fred, With your permission I'd like to change the color scheme in that photo... waaaay too blue! Chris, absolutely... give it a shot. My daughter has done that with a bunch of older photos, but she never tried that one. And thanks! Best wishes, Fred.

Fred,
My favorite restaurant in the world is behind you. Look at the church to the left. There is a small square their on Hauptstrasse. On the corner of the square opposite a plaque for Samuel Clemens is an Italian Restaurant called Le Palme. I have been going there on pretty much every trip to Germany for the past 30 years.

I used a program called Paint Shop Pro 9 to fiddle with the colors a bit.

Fred, My favorite restaurant in the world is behind you. Look at the church to the left. Will, I am not sure which one you are talking about, but there was a marvelous place I used to go to-- don't know if I could find it any more-- but it is probably my favorite, as well. Really old... like maybe 1600s or so; big banquettes.... I used to go there-- with my ex-wife-- and wind up with a half-dozen other people we didn't know, arguing in some sort of language, getting by and having a ton of fun. Those were marvelous days and I would love to take Lisa there some day. Despite the fact she speaks only English, she would wind up yakking with half the population of Heidelberg... she has that type of personality. Heidelberg and Vienna are my two favorite cities. Best wishes, Fred.

Chris,
Can you e-mail me that photo?
When I clicked onto it, the photo popped up in your Photobucket album and I don't want to pry into your business there. I tried clicking on the e-mail, but your album still popped up.
I was able to save Andy's and will keep both copies in my iPhoto. Both are far better than what I have.
Thanks!!!
Best wishes, Fred.

I used a program called Paint Shop Pro 9 to fiddle with the colors a bit. I use Paint Shop to edit all of my photos (camera and cell phone). Usually the result is a pic that has better definition of colors, making it more like real life, at least to my eye. Here is a view from Battle Ridge, unedited and edited. Attachments:
