Hello.
I just joined this august body and thought a few words of personal introduction might be in order.
I live on a very remote High Plains working ranch. Trips to town are 70 miles on a one-laner, which we call a "two-track." It's a wonderful place to live (if you don't weaken!) and the space, almost total isolation, and wonderful country help to make things real, every day.
I suppose my interest in matters LBH may have started as a young child. Occasionally my parents and I would go out to eat at a local place, part café and part bar, and I would spend most of the time studying in great detail a fly-specked poster of the battle. (The Budweiser one, which I understand can now bring as much as $2000.) I can still remember my feeling of betrayal when I later learned that there were no sabers and that Custer's hair was both blond and short.
Anyway, I have a small and growing library of LBH books and enjoy immersing myself in it all. The archeology I find particularly fascinating. I am in respectful awe of the expertise here and hope to learn from it. The wealth of information here is staggering and I have been doing my best to absorb as much of it as I can.
I have no idea what sort of contribution I can make, but I am glad to be here. Thanks for having me!
