Hi all,
I have been doing some research on what Captain Benteen would have worn as a fatigue blouse around 1876? I would suspect that he would have worn a modified EM blouse, perhaps with the shoulder straps.
Based on this forum, I saw he wore a blue wool shirt on the day of the battle, but I am planning on ordering a blouse and have had difficultly finding out the style he perhaps would have worn. Any help would be appreciated!

trotsky,
From the book ""Participants in the Battle of the Little Big Horn" by Capt Frederic C. Wagner lll Capt Benteen wore the dark blue shirt with a wide falling collar. Probably wore blue regulation trousers

Langellier, as that has several examples of officers' dress of the time you require. I think the CBHMA still list it as available from them. Regards. Hunk

You might also tryBoots and Saddles at the Little Bighorn, by James S. Hutchins. Not Benteen-specific, but good visuals, and there is a photo of him on the Black Hills Expedition. Seems to be wearing knee-high boots and one of those awful floppy campaign hats. Edgerly got so mad at LBH that he threw his at the Indians.
