Administrator, I went to log in today and it wouldn't let me. I put in my user ID (franco777) and it said there was no such account. I put in the email address I registered with (frank_nye@usa.net) and it said that was no good either. I had to re-register. Luckily, since it had somehow deleted my account, my orginal userid was still available so I registered with it again. I have been a member for several weeks now and have made many Posts. Why would my account have been deleted?

Franco777 doesn't ring a bell. bc

After reading your reply I think I'm getting your website mixed up with "the other one" you said that you follow. If it's the one I'm thinking about, they both look almost the same although when I was trying to find the "introductions" thread on the web site, I noticed it was in a different place than I was used to it being. I also didn't see either of the trwo administrators names on this site that I was used to seeing. I though I was going crazy.
Duh... I'm on the wrong web site! I think it is the "lbhproboards" (or something like that) is the one I am registered on, however, now that I'm here and registered, I'd like to do some reading and see what folks are saying on this one.
Thanks so much for the reply and sorry for my oversite.
Gotta go...

Franco,
The sites are identical, and the other one is something of a "spin-off" from this one, developed because of some bad blood, misunderstandings, and the usual Custer-contention.
I had left this site at one time-- probably because I was as stupid as some others-- but this one is the "mother-board" and contains a lot more and better information. The bickering has begun "over there" and it destroys a lot of the fun. If you want to bicker, go there; if you enjoy being misled and reading stupidity, go there. If, however, you prefer to learn, read this board. We have our share of contention, but be patient, read carefully, and you will understand things a lot more clearly.
Best wishes, Fred.

Fred,
Thanks for setting me strait. I thought I was going crazy when I tried logging in and was told my userid was invalid. And then when I was told I was never a member and had NOT made a post in the past 2 weeks I knew something was wrong. I went back and found out that it was "thecusterfiles" proboard site that I was a member of. I imagine that's the one you are referring to that had splintered off from this one. I must say that both T.B.W. and Joewiggs (the moderators) seem to do a pretty good job on that site and are very well versed.
Now that I have found this site and have become a member, I'll be visiting both sites and seeing what kind of good information can be "gleaned" from each. I am extremely interested in the LBH campaign, have visited the battlefield twice (even though I live in Pennsylvania) and have about 20 books written on the subject with 3 more on the way. It certainly makes me no expert though... just another very interested person on the subject.
I have my opinions though. Even though Custer made some mistakes that day, I can't help but imagine what the results might have been like if Reno had at least held the timber 30 minutes longer and Benteen had rushed to Custer's aid as requested. Mistakes were made by all that day. Custer ventured too far from his mutual support, Benteen was a little slow in responding and Reno was a little quick in retreating. But that is just me being an "arm chair general" 135 years after the fact.
The proboards websites are a fantastic place to read more. Thanks again for your reply. I hope to be more involved with this site in the future.
Gotta go....
Franco

Franco, If you aren't a shill for Joe Wiggs, you do a great impression of one. His board was apparently created in December 2009 -- but doesn't look anything like this one -- but I had never heard of it. Here's the link: thecusterfiles.proboards.com/index.cgiWhile I'm at it, here's the link to the copycat of this one: thelbha.proboards.com/index.cgi?Diane

So, 4PM this afternoon the pub down the street from your house. You'll be there, right? You're not wearing THAT, are you?
I suggest that the thread "Opinions" be switched to Custeriana or Battle Basics or somewhere other than Campfire.
Can't make it? Darn. Well, always next year. With, you know, warning, which is especially true since you selected Mother's Day and Father's Day for your first two attempts at meeting Myself here in Boulder with 90 minute notice.
Mumble.
Wiggs has started a board? Nobody really talks to him here except for his other ID's and shills, and if people didn't make fun of him, what's the point?
Oh, just visited. He's padding his resume with the hallowed "Moderator" which is certainly as valuable and impressive as anything else on it.

By the way, leave Wiggs alone. I sort of like him. Billy

That was for Merkel; am rather less concerned what you would wear, but thanks for the horrifying visual threat.
"By the way, leave Wiggs alone. I sort of like him." I sorta don't; cannot speak for Merkel.

Yes, you can.
I will try to give you a full hour's notice the next time I fly out to see you. The pub down the street gets a little rowdy after 10 or so, but it's worth a try. They're having an armadillo special this week.
