I doubt this has been posted, so I will just let all you whackos out there know that our bi-yearly jaunt to Never-Never Land will be from June 28 through July 5, 2011.
For some odd reason, these weird guys I hang out with want to be at the MBC in Billings for the Fourth of July.
The Thursday of that time period will find us at the Occidental Hotel in Buffalo, Wyoming, chowing down on buffalo steak and then heading into the bar to listen to the world's best-- got that Darkcloud?-- bluegrass music, probably from about 7 PM to 11:30 PM.
By the time July 6 rolls around we expect to have all this solved.
Best wishes, Fred.

Who all goes to this? Check my note about visiting the battlefield on the anniversary weekend... Then I hope to see some sites the following week, perhaps, and/or go into the Bighorns. Might be fun to eat at the Occidental... have been by it. But you guys - whoever you ARE - would probably skeer me. ;D LOL

Lizs, There are six of us-- there used to be seven, but our good friend died-- and we do it on odd-numbered years. It is usually the same old jaunt with some side trips intermingled. There is me, a poster on here nicknamed "treasuredude"-- aka, Scott Nelson, whose marvelous Website you have probably visited; other fellows named Max Reeve, Michael Olson, Gary Lemery, and Frank Bodden. All-- except maybe Gary-- have posted on here at one time or another, and every one of whom is a character with a marvelous sense of humor. Generally, we fly into Billings (Scott drives because he lives in South Dakota) and wing it from there... no pun intended. Our only scheduled stop is on Thursday because that is the evening when the bluegrass players show up at the Occidental. We generally spend a good three days at the LBH, then filter into Sheridan and the Mint Bar before we hit Buffalo. In 2009 we drove up the Rosebud and intend to do that again this year, possibly going all the way up to Crook's Rosebud fight. Ford D is a must this trip and then somehow we'll figure a way to get to the Wheatly-Fisher rocks of the Fetterman fight. Other than that, we'll wing it as usual. If you want to meet up with us and get one of our own "LFTs" (that's Fred-ese for laugh-filled-tours), all you have to do is e-mail me and we'll work something out, even if you do it while we're there. Best wishes, Fred.

For anyone who wants to see a bit of the bluegrass at the Occidental, here is a 10 minute clip: www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMMYq010hbkIn 2007 we played poker where that band is set up in the above video. As I live in Pierre, SD, I drive out and meet up with the rest of these clowns who fly in. Running around the battlefields and trails, drinking beer at night - it doesn't get much better. Scott
