I bet you are right. The perspectives of time, past and present, is a novel idea!

The movie has received great press: [Steve] Charpie joined Catalfo at the premiere in Custer's home town of Monroe, Michigan, at the same theater where "They Died with Their Boots On," with Errol Flynn playing Custer, premiered in 1941. While Catalfo couldn't get Flynn, his Custer is played by Steve Alexander, who has been honored by Congress as America's foremost Custer scholar, and has played the general at every Bighorn re-enactment since 1986. He actually lives in Custer's former home in Monroe.
"I asked him the most foolish question of all, 'Do you want to stay in character?' The guy lives in Custer's home for God's sake," Catalfo related. "I told him Steve, I got you a couple of Colt 45s. He says, 'Oh, I have Custer's original British Bulldog Webley pistol. I'll use that.' I said, 'O.K., that's good.'"
