clw--Thanks for link. I'm sorta familar with the story simply because of the association between the Nez Perce and the Appaloosa horses. I think at one time they were relocated just to the south of me near what is now Tonkawa, Oklahoma. I never imagined I'd actually make up to their country.

PS The Nez Perce called their new Oklahoma home "the hot place" which could also be translated, in the vernacular, as "Hell."
