I discovered this morning a site which has the images of the transcript of GAC's 1867 trial available for free. The site is Footnote and the URL to view what they have is as follows: www.footnote.com/documents/Scroll down and you will see the Custer trial or just no a Ctrl-F and type in Custer to find it on the page. To print out the documents, printed size is 5 7/8" by 8 1/2" but legible, you must obtain a free membership. The company is in partnership with the National Archives so we should not have to worry about any dubious behaviors from them. If a genealogist, the premium price is $70.00 per year for all current and future content which seems reasonable, especially if you see something you need. There is also a monthly rate but I didn't pay attention to that. So far, after browsing through all their offerings, I have not found anything regarding LBH or the Indian Wars but perhaps one day. Nice find, Billy, and a good-looking site, especially for those looking for info on a distant relative who served in the ACW and might have applied for a pension. I didn't check out the whole site, or even the whole of the first page, but it appears to be an excellent source.
Thanks,
Gordie
