Hi everyone I joined only for one purpose. I knew Tricia Johnson-McDuffie, and she & I were very good internet friends. We corresponded by e-mail many times. And I do miss her sooooo.... much. She was such a joy to share many thoughts, dreams and wishes. I don't know much, if anything your website has to offer me. But I will try to share in the experience. Drew

Welcome, Drew. Tricia, or Sasha as I called her, had many friends here, including myself. I never met her, but was planning on it, eventually, for a trip to LBH. I miss her, and think of her virtually every day. Trish was more interested in GAC than in the fights themselves, although she was quite knowledgeable in all areas, and certainly brought a unique perspective and a bulldog spirit to the boards.
This forum is not just for people interested in Custer, Keogh, the Little Bighorn fights, the military, or frontier life and history. It is for kindred spirits - so feel free to express whatever you want to, and to ask whatever questions about whatever subject. It might be best to leave Sex, Religion and Politics aside, or leave them as subjects for Personal Messages or Emails. Unfortunately, those are my areas of greater expertise..............
Again - Welcome!!

Gordie thank you so much for your kind welcome.
Tricia fondly expressed her passion for this website to me often. She wrote what a joy it was for her to be here & share her thoughts with such wonderful & talented people. When she informed me about her Leyton character, we shared many amusing thoughts about that too. It was a performance I think only she could accomplish. Her talents were many, her heart true, and her belief’s - inspiring.
I always loved it when Tricia expressed to me what was happening here. I learned a few things from her most of us gals just are not interested in. I know I wasn’t. Battle’s and death are horrible things to think about. But Tricia each time had a graceful style that made the theme fascinating for me. And I was so much looking forward to seeing her new book being published. She bounced a few ideas off of me, and I was wondering if she ever used them.
I‘ve done similar websites with people that are now close friends, Tricia being one of them. I love meeting new people sharing their experiences and insights. I am really looking forward to doing this. And I know in my heart that Tricia would approve & want me to.

Hi drew,
Had I noticed that you were a female, I'd have not been so remiss in extending a welcome.
My relationship with Tricia was much like Gordie's, in that I was never privileged to have met her in person. All you say of her is accurate, and never was she more fun than when prodded or provoked into her 'righteously cantankerous' mode. Some just cannot be replaced.

Ditto...you'll find Trish still all over the "Tupperware" section.
You should start a thread there, yourself, in celebration of her contributions!
Enjoy...Clair

Thank you for all of your comments, its nice to be here. I am so looking forward to sharing information, meeting new people and to exchange news and ideas with Tricia’s friends.
Let me tell you a little about me…
My hobbies are... Baking, traveling, entertaining, volunteering, walking, reading (I’m in two book clubs), and watching my daughter mature into the beautiful young lady she is becoming.
At home things are still frenzied since my daughter was a toddler, and no two days have ever been exactly alike. She’s now 14, and I enjoy watching my daughter’s high school cheerleading activities.
As a salesperson at a Bridal store, I have the best job in the world. One day I might selling a lovely gown for a beautiful wedding and the next day, meeting the handsome groom for his tux; or selling a pretty dress for the school’s prom. Thanks for making me feel so welcome. I’m such a geek, I'll probably mess up the boards. So Clair I will accept your kind invitation to the Tupperware party. I've just finished reading Elisabeth Custer’s “Boots and Saddles” and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Tricia always wanted me to read it, and now I realize why and appreciate it all the more. Drew

clw, It's so nice to be here, thank you.
brokensword, It was always my experience that Trish shared an opinion with a good nature that didn’t alienate the other person. The main targets of her wrath were those shouting heads – who as she put it "populated a website with a diet of wildly inaccurate, patriotic and combative noise.” It was only a matter of time before she came along to skewer them, and you knew the eagle had landed.
When this happened the mild-mannered Trish turned to Stephen Colbert or John Daily, her favorite shows and mimed them perfectly; she came off as a wild-eyed crusader, hell-bent on fighting for truth & justice - in her own good natured way. Her humble response, as viewed from the outside, was very often - satirical. She knew and believed that a website was not about her. And she presented herself in a no-nonsense manner when it came to opinions of what any serious subject was about.
