Off the top of my head, I think there's an interview with Frank Kicking Bear in the Kadlecek book on the last days of Crazy Horse (and it seesm to be one of the more pragmatic interviews) that reveals that CH passed on his 'medicine' (wotawe?) to Kicking Bear.

I have the Kadlecek book . . . an excellent book with interviews with then aged Indians and their accounts of CH. Great photos and stories.
Highly recommended.

If you are talking about To Kill An Eagle, you will find numerous copies listed on abebooks, with at least three of them at a buck a pop.
