I think I'll put on some Florida Perfume (a/k/a Deep Woods Off) and stroll out in the woods behind the house to see if any magnolias are blooming yet. I'll watch my cats run around among the trees, chasing anything that moves. Then I'll look up to the bright blue sky and thank God that a bunch of crazy people from all over the country -- all over the world -- found my message boards.
Oh, great! One of my furry monsters just brought me a present: a newborn mole whose eyes aren't even open yet. Poor little guy. I guess it's time to google "moles" again to see if I can keep him alive . . . .

Now that my fears about clw and her bullwhip have been allayed (though Bab and her fire ants have me a bit worried), it should be safe to post this: dakotagraph.blogspot.com/Next time you need a fix, just head over there. (Better yet, add it to your RSS reader, and have a bit-'o-heaven delivered to your desktop on a regular basis!) cefil P.S.: Diane, you might want to put your furry monsters on the Lolcat 100 Calorie pak diet: tinyurl.com/4gebwj(Bring packs. P.S. bring paks -- See: this even relates to LBH.) P.P.S.: Ignimbrite, brrrrr...

moles have no eyes.. or external ears.. but they DO have pouches.. upside down pouches (to keep the dirt out).

It looks like he has little eye sockets, but maybe not.
cefil, is that your blog? Very nice! I'll put it on the links page of the main website if you like.
That other one . . . . do any of those people write in English?

Diane: Not mine, alas--I wish I were that talented!--just a site I ran across in my surfing this evening. That other one . . . . do any of those people write in English? No, they're fluent in lolspeak. It's a bit of an acquired taste (kinda like haggis, I guess; or, perhaps more appropriate to this thread, chitlins...right, BS?). I'm going to put my snow boots on and walk out the front door through 5 1/2 inches of snow to the firewood pile. I'll fill the wheelbarrow with a load of wood to put in the stove to try and warm the house up from a brisk low temperature of -.37 last night. If Lewis and Clark had been in Great Falls 200 years ago last night instead of in July, they could have recorded a -8 temperature. Spring time in the Rockies... got to love it. Ruth, who doesn't quite remember what green grass looks like. Well, Ruth, I'll make a deal with you. I'll trade you the green grass for ALL the snow you've got, and I'll throw in the fire ants as a bonus! I was born and bred in Montana and miss the snow and cold with a passion! We didn't have too many sunburns up that way when I was a youngster, but the sledding was great. I remember measuring the snow in FEET and not inches! Bab

Montana,
Are you anywhere near Edenton, North Carolina? Chuck found a very interesting tombstone in Pensacola, and we have different theories about who is buried there. The mystery leads back to Edenton.
If anyone cares, upon closer inspection, the mole's snout was not long and pointy, it had eye sockets and ears, its feet weren't webbed, and it had a long tail, so the mole is a mouse. I've never been very good at rodent identification, but our local animal rescue service has a woman who loves rodents, so she has the little cutie now.

First BS (very innocently) said "Sadee...[will] be after you with a bull whip..." then clw said, 'Me? Use a bullwhip? Much too overt....' then, Bab said... 'Clw, How about a horse whip?...'
BS now says, '...You ladies are scaring me with how much you know about whips....'
I once heard of this certain 'establishment' in Tijauna. Never went there, but I wonder...?

Diane- "...so the mole is a mouse. I've never been very good at rodent identification..."
Oddly enough, I was checking out a site about 'the world's ugliest pets and animals' less than ten minutes before your post about the kitty capture. The mole was on there and I'd just read a description. I know little about rodents either.
I will add that about the silliest idea anyone came up with is 'animal rescue and relocation' for RODENTS. Is there a shortage of those varmints that I don't know about?

cefil- "...chitlins...right, BS?..."
How the devil would I know? Once drove forty miles out of my way to avoid the smell coming from a chitlin festival in Augusta, Georgia. PHEW! Pure wolf bait, I say.
M P.S. I'll stick with 'possum and grits.

We ain't called Florida 'crackers' because of our diet.
And fireants have various uses. I've found they're real good at cleaning meat off a carcass.

Montana, Are you anywhere near Edenton, North Carolina? Chuck found a very interesting tombstone in Pensacola, and we have different theories about who is buried there. The mystery leads back to Edenton. Diane Diane, Edenton is located on Albemarle Sound just off of Route 17 in the northeastern part of N.C., closer to the Virginia border. I live way south of there, almost on the South Carolina border., just off of Route 74. Does the burial spot have anything to do with LBH? Sounds intrigueing. Montana
