Frank,
the first photo is Fool Bull ("Tatanka Witko" 1844-1909), a Brule Lakota, photographed by John Anderson. He was a medicine man and participant in the battle of LBH.
The second one was photographed by L.A. Huffman. It shows probably the Minneconjou Scorched Lightning, or that is what Huffman wrote. He looks very much alike Young Spotted Eagle, son of the Sans Arc chief, who was also photographed by him.

Thats what I think too! I was just wondering the website where I took these from thah why it talks about Turtles and Respect... I mean tha text in both pics is correct but when you click the link to the website, there is written like the name would be Turtle Rib or Respects Nothing... or then I just really don't understand anything and I have got it all wrong... that is very possible...

One confusing aspect is many Indians had more than one name or changed names after a certain event.

Probably with good reason! You wouldn't believe some of the questions I get that I don't bother posting here. In fact, I am seriously considering changing the e-mail link on the home page so that it goes to a page that says:
DON'T WRITE if you are a student with a homework assignment due tomorrow and want me to write an essay for you. Try reading a book the next time. You might actually learn something.
DON'T WRITE if you have had a mystical dream, vision, or psychic experience telling you that you were an Indian chief in a past life. You weren't.
MOST OF ALL, after I answer your question, DO NOT send me links to New Age, "think peace and love," or political websites. A simple "thank you" will suffice.

My own website is small and humble but you dont believe the amount of angry feedback Ive got for my statement at the INFO-page of my website where I said: "One more thing I wanna make perfectly clear is that I am NOT what they call an "Indian Lover". I am simply a guy from Finland who is very interested in the history and the ways of the plains Indian tribes. So just to make this clear, I am not one of those tree huggers who always feel sorry for the Indians and keep on complaining and yelling and crying how wrong white man has treated Indians and how terrible it is and etc..."
