O'Toole in 'Lawrence of Arabia,' is there a better motion picture anywhere in the galaxy? I think not. I marvel at it each time I watch it....a masterpiece!!

Scout-
I really can't argue with you about Lawrence of Arabia. I'm almost tempted to say Dr. Zhivago and Far From the Madding Crowd, but they do not quite have the breath taking sweep. Hard to top the desert for that. Now if 'Lawrence' had just had Geraldine Chaplin....

OMG ...! David Lean epics! Now you're making my mouth water. I didn't start appreciating Lawrence of Arabia until I got older, but I've loved Dr. Zhivago since I was like seven or so. It's the second thing that awakened me to all things Russian--ever since I saw that movie, my dream has been to visit Petersburg in the winter, wrap myself in some (be sure to note this, CSS) sable and ride down the Nevski'i Prospekt in my troika!
Brokenone ... I'll see your Geraldine Chaplin and raise you an Omar Sharif!
