gawsh, the "hottest" thing I've been doing is striking up correspondence with an English actor I was in love with 50 years ago. Just finding him was an adventure. alfuso Now having whetted our curiosity with that tantalising snippet, Alfuso, you must go on to name names! ;D ciao, GAC

I've been told that the Custer family absolutely will NOT ever allow exhumation of GAC. alfuso Bummer. But I'll still be looking into a lot of this, dozens of great historical figures, my heart is just so broken to to think of all the good stuff thats just lying in the dirt. Sad Stranger

It's just not lying in the dirt, Strange. That's what you don't choose to understand. To many, burial places are sanctified ground ... it would be best for you to respect folks' beliefs, no matter how mundane and simplistic they might seem to your sensibilities. BTW ... didn't you claim to be a so-called "Bible scholar?" Then you should recognise the deep attachment people have to their loved ones' graves.
Give me a freaking break.

BTW ... didn't you claim to be a so-called "Bible scholar?" Then you should recognise the deep attachment people have to their loved ones' graves. Give me a freaking break. I do fully understand, and my heart be not made of stone. I am not seeing any thing wrong with going through the proper angles of exhumations by ASKING permission from the proper parties involved with various historical figures. Being an avid student of God's word, I do not force my beliefs on people nor do I just go around digging some one up with out the proper permission. There is a wealth in bodies, and that wealth is knowledge. Therefore I will not be discouraged about going through the proper procedures necessary to exhume remains of historical greats with the utmost respect (while also seeing some cool skeletons and giggling like Vincent Price.). I asked everyone's thoughts on the proper procedures necessary and instead, well, we all know how this went ......... And yes I am a pretty excellent "biblical sholar" in my own regard. despite not having a degree, I am also very sharp on various mis-translations and "lost" or ignored teachings. For instance, just so that none take me lightly, I know things like Adam's "rib" actually being "curve", I also know a thing or two of the 8th day creation of Adam ("man" was created on the 6th day, not Adam. In the English translation we don't even see Adam until like chapters 2 or 3. I could go on forever but I'm not using the boards for this, though I have a lot to back all of this, probably better on this than I even am with Custer.). Mark my words I know things that can spin us all "right round, baby, right round" , I'm by no means a light weight. With much regard and still RESPECT (even if I don't get it, I still give it.) GAC the actor's name is Peter Hammond and you've probably never heard of him. He was in a show in 1957, THE BUCCANEERS, in which he co-starred with Robert Shaw. Through a series of lucky accidents, returned mail, I found him. If you've watched MYSTERY you've seen a few of his works. If you've watched any of the Honor Blackman AVENGERS, you've seen his work -- he set the tone for that series. If you watched the later Jeremy Brett Holmes series, you've seen Hammond's work. Go to my BLOG on Delphi and here are photos and reviews. BLOG - I Don't Love You Since You Ate MY Cat forums.delphiforums.com//alfuso/startalfuso

Maybe I'm digging up bad feelings, but I just had to come back here and comment that this particular thread was off the hook! Man, oh man, looking far back, I have to say I really loved this thread. The one thing I hate about getting older is that I'll never be able to spin a whirlwind of writing like I did in some of these older posts. Someday, maybe not here, I hope I can summon the strength in words that I formed right here. Its been so long, I must really be getting rusty, computers have made me soft, I need to strike back into the game and get this whirlwind back, not so much here ( because people get really shaken) but in my work outside of here.
If only, if only, I hope I can summon the four winds once again and brutally maim the keyboard and the papers and break in with an unmatched fury that would make Stephen King himself stand up and say........... "MY GOD! HE'S LOST HIS MIND!".....................Oh, how the Stranger is sparking out! I'll have to do a lot of reading and a lot of praying and a lot of weights to bring myself back into perfection, back to the beginning, back the greatness of yesteryear in the days to which I breathed fire and stood superhuman! Worldlyness is getting to me, as it probably got to Custer, days in which ye stop believing that your made of stone and thou art humbled to your death before man! Ooooooh, how the Stranger rode back, but thus NO MORE! For the Stranger must return, back into formation, return to dreaming, return to POWER! No more every day! I cannot yield to computers! I've went too far on this little keyboard, becoming human again is such a bummer, I really need to contribute something, shake my timbers back to perfection, destroy all worldly images and impressions of what we feel is reality! Its been great hanging around here, but its time to summon forth the dogs of war and slaughter the four winds! Time to strangle Cerberus and make strides with Milo of Croton! Alas behold! My time is near! Glory to thee conquerer of conquerers! Summon please the HOLY GHOST and abide only in his realities, for it is in those realities where greater things are to be accomplished and achieved, where eons and generations and galaxies forth of fruitful essence become applied to all that meet the conditions and whom are therefore brave enough to seek! Cursed be me for forgetting the great promises and un-contended laws of the Holy Spirit! Damned be I if I thus forget all of the great works that have been offered me! How long, therefore, do I rot in my little corner of the universe? Strong enough to lift 300 pounds, but yet whining and sulking over little pesky circumstances, sitting here with my stubborn gullet of fleshly stomach that will not harden when I command it! Oh, how perplexing are these times when I spin right round, right round, baby, right round, listening, second thoughts, pesky terrors of ill faith, losing the powers of reading mass amounts of God's word and other materials and unleashing so much that is unheard of..........man, I'm really losing my flare...............
In other words, this very long rant pretty much articulates why I've been presently absent from here for the most part. Its been awesome around here, I've had lots of fun, but the net is really draining me, so you guys will see far less of me around here. I need to refresh and summon forth all of my fierceness.
Sincerest regards and firmest blessings from the magnificent Stranger

Strange--
Though I won't beg you to stay, I'd like for you to realise one thing. This board is not the place to talk all about yourself. I mean, how many of your posts actually shed light on Custer before they descend into the realm of Blackbeards, monsters, or other ramblings?
Take the advice which has been offered by so many. Before you hit "post reply," kindly see that the use of "I" is limited and the paragraph is on-subject.
