Actually, now that I think of it, I am more surprised that it has his Civil War rather than his regular army organization engraved upon it. I will attempt to find the Yates and Calhoun markers but I believe that they both have 7th Cav. on them.

I think the stone is in error as to his organization. I don't think he was in the 7th Ohio Cavalry, but I may be mistaken on that point. I think they may have a "bastardized" inscription, partly this and partly that.
I perhaps mentioned this before but the graves of the 7th Cav. officers killed at LBH are slightly higher and about four rows directly behind Kate's grave, almost as if looking out for her on her journey.
Yeah, sentimental rubbish, but I like the thought.
