That group of selections makes up the Gems of the Collection section, and it is wonderful. There is the tiny carriage of Tom Thumb of Ringling Brothers Circus fame. There are two gorgeous trains from annual celebrations similar to Mardi Gras. And there’s a bejeweled flapper dress, a deerskin dress worn by a Lakota Sioux woman killed at Wounded Knee and a white cotton dress worn by a freed slave who spent her first salary on material to make it [emphasis added].
